Midnowhere

Introduction

For quite a few years I have been putting words onto paper and into text editors. Almost no one has seen any of it, except a few friends and relatives. So that it might not be a totally wasted effort, I decided to make it available on this site, which I started setting up about nine [now twelve] years ago, using HTML and NVU (no longer available) and called Midnowhere. It had remained untouched for several years. The top image is the old Flammarion Engraving, one of my favorites. The middle image is something I dreamed up. The bottom image is a political statement. This site won't change much. I don't write much or fast, and I go for long periods without painting. However, there should be some additions as long as I am able to do more. Hopefully, someone out there may find something amusing or inspiring.

I have arranged the paintings in broad categories by decades. For most of them the exact dates are unknown. Also, most of them have no names. I used to number them on the backs, but I no longer have the originals (except for a few). The digital ones begin in the early 2000s. The early paintings were oils (up to 2' by 3') and watercolors, later acrylics on masonite and paper and getting smaller. And of course the digital ones have no "size".  8-)  I was naming  them as files by date, but changed the naming system somewhere, so they are in no particular order. Some which look the same as thumbnails are small variations from one to the next.

The photographs may have some esthetic value, and I may add others. Navigation is awkward in places. If necessary, zoom in with the Control key together with " + " (in) or " - " (out) on Windows and Linux or use the Command key ⌘ on Mac.

Writing   This: is not going to ruin my second, my minute, my hour, my day, my week, my month, my year, my decade, my life, my eternity (in a spiral)
